Genesee Wood is a "mom and pop" woodshop business located in northern California, where the southern Cascade Mountains  meet the rugged northern Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Located in a remote mountain meadow valley bisected by streams and ponds, the surrounding mountains are heavily forested with pine, fir, oak and maple.  A ten minute drive presents panoramas of Mount Lassen Volcano to the north, the towering Sierras to the south and forest as far as the eye can see in every direction.  Deer regularly browse in our yard and field, and bear, mountain lion and numerous other wild animals visit our pond every night. 

     Our business is the culmination of 40 years of woodworking, residential construction, cabinetmaking, furniture making experience, refinement of woodturning skills and experience garnered over the last three decades.  We have distributed products through a local retailer for over a decade, as well as providing custom items requested by local contractors or ordered by customers.  Several private collectors visit the area to examine any new products we have released, and one of our art bowls is known to be decorating the home of a collector in China.

     We have been married for 43 years and have two wonderful daughters, and four of the most delightful grandchildren anyone could hope for.  We live here in this wonderful forest setting with our  black Labrador Molly.
